Indeed, fixing up issues is the focus of Windows 10 build 16278. That makes sense as it is the third Fast Ring release in a week. Last Wednesday, Microsoft launched build 16273 with new Emoji notifications in My People, and a new Bahnschrift font. That update was followed on Friday by Windows 10 build 16275, which itself had a bunch of fixes. Of course, we are drawing nearer to the full launch of the Fall Creators Update (FCU). This means preview updates will generally be focused on solving problems ahead of the full release. Most new features have already been previewed in previous releases. With Windows 10 build 16278, Microsoft has not listed any new known issues. That is not to say there aren’t any problems, instead Microsoft is simply not listing them at the moment. The company confirmed this last week, saying updates are becoming too frequent to list problems. Interestingly, we still do not have concrete information on when the RTM build for the FCU will launch. Considering it is widely expected to drop in September, we would have thought the final release date would have been leaked. Either way, we know it will drop soon and Microsoft will move on to Redstone 4 on the Fast Ring. The next major Windows 10 version is currently in development, with Insiders able to access very early builds through the recently announced Skip Ahead feature.
